              Public Reading and Discussion Events

Starting May 5, SML will be hosting a new program, “Take Two & Call Me In The Morning.” This program is free and open to all patrons. Todd Savitt, a professor from ECU, will be leading the discussions. Each meeting starts at 7pm at the Main Library.

Interested patrons will need to sign up at the Main Library in order to receive their first packet of readings. Registered attendees will meet every other week to discuss what they read during the previous weeks. The reading subjects are: death and dying; the experience of illness; disability; and family and friends.

Authors of selected readings include: Ernest Hemingway, Maya Angelou, Andre Dubus, Raymond Carver, Amy Bloom, and William Carlos Williams (& more!). The readings will be various forms of short stories, poems and personal narratives.
